Social Media Marketing ROI

Good evening readers,

Today I plan on talking about Return on Investment (ROI), and this post is kind of bitter sweet as it is my last post for my Social Media Marketing class #MARK4474! Before this class I don’t think I had even read a blog before let alone wrote one, so have learned a lot of useful skills for this class. I also seem to be able to use Twitter more frequently now, I even think to do it automatically, which wasn’t even a thought before. So please enjoy my last blog about ROI.

Becoming a Thought Leader

Good evening to all,

Today my blog will discuss Thought Leadership and what that means. Thought leadership can be defined as a type of content marketing where you tap into the talent, experience, and passion inside your business, or from your community, to consistently answer the biggest questions on the minds of your target audience, on a topic (Brenner, 2017). Thought leaders are the informed opinion leaders and the go-to people in their field of expertise. They are trusted sources who move and inspire people with innovative ideas; turn ideas into reality, and know and show how to replicate their success (Brosseau, 2017).

Social Media Marketing: Facebook and Twitter

Good day everyone,

Today I want to talk about social media marketing with Facebook and Twitter. Marketing has changed so much in the past 10 years and even longer than that, when I was growing up the biggest excitement for us was receiving the Sears Christmas Wish Catalogue, it was the highlight of every kids day I suspect in the holiday season, as it was with mine. Social media has created a new style of communication and there are now billions of conversations happening online.

LinkedIn Profiles for Social Business Success

Good day readers,

Thank you for coming to my page and reading my posts.

I created my LinkedIn account years ago, without even being in a position of looking for another job. I have been successful in my career at Alberta Blue Cross, however, I feel that it is important to keep my LinkedIn profile current and relevant. I do believe that everyone should have a LinkedIn account so that you are visible for your career growth. It is the norm for prospective employers to look up potential employees. It can even generate offers of interviews or jobs.

5 tips for improving your YouTube channel

Hello readers,

Today I am talking about the top 5 tips for improving your YouTube channel, which I am learning as I go, as I don’t have a YouTube channel and rarely watch them myself.

First off is the important aspect of having a website for anybody who’s on YouTube for a number of reasons, as it gives you a lot more credibility. It gives users another place to go to learn more about you. A place that you have complete control over, so anything that you want your users to know about you, you can put it on your website. So, as mentioned above, it really increases your credibility. It also is a wonderful opportunity for you to embed your YouTube videos on your website. If you put your website in the description of your videos on YouTube, your YouTube could skyrocket to be your top referrer. It can drive a lot of traffic to your website and then your website draws a lot of traffic back to YouTube, so they can really work well together.

Social Listening for Marketers

Hello to all my readers!

Today I am going to discuss social listening which is a combination of research and monitoring that includes media, influencers, customers, your employees, and competitors. It’s really a form of business intelligence. It is the process of monitoring digital media channels to devise a strategy that will better influence consumers. Taking information from places that consumers participate in online can be invaluable.

Social listening tools search web pages to look for specific “mentions” of specific keywords or phrases – in this case a topic, product or brand – and will then summarize Continue reading “Social Listening for Marketers”

Google Adwords Essentials

Good day readers,

Today I am discussing Google Adwords, and the pay per click model, which is mostly used in marketing where once your ads are clicked then you pay some amount. There are many examples of the pay per click site when you search pay per click sites, first that shows up, is Google Adwords. The pay per click is the traditional banner where one pays by the number of times it is on display. There’s no minimum to get started with Adwords. You can choose how much you spend per month, per day, and even per ad. And the remarkable thing is, for the most part, you’re only going to pay when someone clicks your ad. AdWords gives your business visibility even if your website is not in the top result.

It is does not surprise me that a lot of online advertisers choose to do their promotion using Google adwords. This is a remarkable feat given that Google only started in 1998. But in such a short period of time, Google has established itself as the leading and most widely used search engine in cyberspace.

How it works is that the ads will appear in the order of the most relevant searches made by the users, which makes Google effective. It gives the users what they want, and what they need. More importantly, for advertisers this means that if their ads place high on the ranking they would pay less for their adwords. If they place low, they would have to pay more. If they do not get clicked at all, they would become inactive in the search engine. Therefore, it is important for advertisers to choose the right key words that internet users would respond to.
